We are seeking a Lead WordPress Developer to drive technical projects, lead site conversions, and communicate directly with business stakeholders. In this role, you will oversee end-to-end WordPress development, build custom themes and plugins, execute platform migrations, and optimize site speed, SEO, and user experience across all devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead website migration, conversion, and optimization projects from initial kick-off through deployment.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact in client meetings and communicate directly with business owners.
  • Translate design mockups into fully responsive, high-performing WordPress pages.
  • Develop custom WordPress themes, plugins, and REST API integrations.
  • Diagnose and resolve cross-browser compatibility and site performance issues.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience in WordPress administration, development, migration, and optimization.

3 YEARS OF RECENT EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE LAST 5 YEARS IN EACH:

  • At least 3 years of total experience acting in a technical lead capacity.
  • Leading conversion projects, client meetings, and direct communication with business owners.
  • Converting mockups into fully functional WordPress pages.
  • Migrating websites from other platforms to WordPress.
  • Troubleshooting cross-browser compatibility issues.
  • Responsive web design techniques.
  • Common WordPress plugins and features incl., Advanced Custom Fields, Custom Post Types, and duplication/backup tools.
  • Optimizing the performance and speed of WordPress sites.
  • Applying Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices.
  • Developing with PHP, HTML, CSS, SASS/SCSS, and JavaScript.
  • Custom WordPress theme and plugin development.
  • Working with the WordPress REST API.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
