Plant Manager - Power / Energy / Electric

<p>The Sr. Operations Manager is responsible for the end-to-end operation, maintenance, and service execution of Bloom Energy’s Solid Oxide Fuel Cell installations at customer sites. This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant operation of the Bloom Energy Server while also owning 24/7 on-site service responsiveness, troubleshooting execution, and coordination of field service activities. The position serves as the single operational owner at site level, interfacing with customers and coordinating with Remote Monitoring, Engineering, Field Service, and Fulfillment teams to meet uptime, efficiency, SLA, and contractual commitments.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Site Operations Leadership </strong></p><ul><li>Serve as the primary operational owner for the assigned O&M site.</li><li>Act as the single point of contact for customer facility and operations teams.</li><li>Lead daily O&M routines, inspections, system monitoring, and reporting.</li><li>Ensure operational discipline, site readiness, and adherence to standard work practices.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Operations, Maintenance & Service Execution</strong></p><ul><li>Accountable for prioritization, coordination, and site-level outcomes</li><li>Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.</li><li>Ensure timely execution of preventive maintenance schedules and efficient handling of service events and failures.</li><li>Coordinate on-site troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and component replacements.</li><li>Validate work orders, job plans, and maintenance documentation in the systems</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Fleet Health & Performance Monitoring</strong></p><ul><li>Monitor system KPIs including power output, efficiency, fuel usage, degradation trends, and alarms.</li><li>Collaborate with Remote Monitoring and Engineering teams to diagnose and resolve performance deviations.</li><li>Support advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis for recurring issues.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Safety, Quality & Compliance</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure compliance with all EHS requirements, permits, and safety procedures.</li><li>Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, audits, and contractor safety management.</li><li>Maintain audit readiness for regulatory, customer, and internal inspections.</li><li>Promote a strong safety and quality culture across all site activities</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Customer Communication & Stakeholder Management</strong></p><ul><li>Proactively communicate planned maintenance, outages, and performance updates to customers.</li><li>Support customer queries related to power availability, output, and operational performance.</li><li>Represent Bloom Energy professionally at site level and build strong customer relationships.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Performance & Reliability Management</strong></p><ul><li>Track site uptime, SLA compliance, response times, and key operational KPIs.</li><li>Drive improvements in system reliability, service response, and operational efficiency.</li><li>Analyze incident trends, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive action</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Work Coordination & Vendor Management</strong></p><ul><li>Coordinate activities with contractors, service partners, utility providers, and fuel suppliers.</li><li>Ensure availability of spares, tools, and consumables required for uninterrupted operations.</li><li>Monitor quality, safety, and timeliness of outsourced maintenance and service work.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Documentation & Reporting</strong></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate operational logs, maintenance records, and safety documentation.</li><li>Submit weekly and monthly site performance and service reports.</li><li>Provide insights, lessons learned, and recommendations to regional and global leadership.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations</li><li>10–15 years in plant operations, power generation, or industrial O&M with strict SLA requirements.</li><li>Strong understanding of electromechanical, thermal, and control systems.</li><li>Experience in site operations, vendor management, and customer interaction.</li><li>Ability to interpret engineering drawings and system performance data</li><li>Demonstrated experience leading managers and influencing global, matrixed teams across regions and functions</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with fuel cells, CHP, microgrids, or distributed energy systems.</li><li>Exposure to solid-oxide or high-temperature electrochemical systems.</li><li>Safety certifications (NEBOSH/HSE) or electrical operations certifications.</li><li>Familiarity with SCADA systems.</li></ul><p><br></p>
