About the position

Michelin is seeking an editorial professional passionate about content creation and editing to join its MICHELIN Guide team. The MICHELIN Guide has a long history of discovering exceptional restaurants and hotels globally and has been expanding its reach, particularly in North America. The mission is to be the leading source for discerning food and travel enthusiasts, offering trusted curation, culinary and travel inspiration, and a premier reservation platform. With a presence in over 15 locations and operating in multiple languages, the Guide features thousands of restaurants and hotels worldwide. This role is based in New York City and is crucial for adapting the global strategy to the Americas, with the editorial team designing and delivering content for audiences in Canada, the USA, and Mexico.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring a high standard of editorial values and integrity for the MICHELIN Guide’s written materials and website for North America and ensure consistency whatever the production process: in-house or outsourced.
  • Ensuring that all creative output is derived through conceptual thinking based on a deep understanding of editorial, brand, and marketing principles and agreed objectives.
  • Editing articles written by both in-house and freelance contributors, including substantive editing, copyediting, and proofing.
  • Facilitating freelance collaborations and delivering project outputs. This includes assigning articles, writing outlines and briefs, guiding drafts through the editorial process, and handling contracts and payments on time.
  • Writing and updating articles based on new MICHELIN Guide Selections.
  • Overseeing production schedules for editorial and sponsored content.
  • Building and updating articles in the CMS as needed, ensuring that multimedia assets are delivered and implemented, and supplying the CRM and social media teams with evocative copy and headlines for newsletters and social posts.
  • Production optimization: resource allocation, cost efficiency, and delivery timeline.

Requirements

  • 5 years of demonstrated experience in editorial, content marketing, and digital content creation
  • Experience engaging and retaining aspirational, high-end, and luxury audiences – especially those passionate about gastronomy and exploration – over time with high-quality content (not click-bait)
  • Experience in sourcing content and coordinating freelance relationships and deliverables
  • Experience working with international teams
  • Strong sense of confidentiality is required
