Communications & Marketing Officer

People who work for the National Trust are as varied as all the places we care for. As a Communications and Marketing Officer for the National Trust in Herefordshire, you'll be responsible for letting people know about our places, and how they can visit.

You'll work 22.5 hours per week over three days. Your working pattern can be flexible, which can be discussed at the interview stage.

What it's like to work here:You'll cover Berrington Hall, Brockhampton, Croft Castle and The Weir Garden and will also promote seven open-access countryside sites. You'll be promoting and sharing what's special, beautiful and unique about the places we look after in Herefordshire, encouraging people to visit and letting audiences know about our conservation work.

What you'll be doing:We have an annual plan covering communications and marketing, and your role will be to achieve what’s on that plan. We have some ambitious targets that you’ll be aiming at, including reaching new and diverse audiences, so there’s room for creativity and fresh ideas.

Your day-to-day work will cover things like creating new content on our web pages, and making sure that existing information remains relevant and accurate, running social media accounts, creating promotional materials and writing and distributing press releases.

You'll be working closely with your colleagues on site and the Trusts regional advisers, known as consultants. You'll be part of a team making sure that we're sharing the best stories we can, with a focus on spreading the word about places to visit and letting people know about the Trust’s conservation work.
