Transportation Audit & Compliance Specialist, Transportation Risk and Compliance (TRC)

This position will be based out of an Amazon corporate office, and may require to travel periodically.

Amazon Transportation Services have built world-class Middle Mile operations, which rely on an exceptional pool of carriers who work relentlessly to meet our customers' expectations. TRC is looking for a high-judgment individual to join us as an Audit & Compliance Specialist to assess carriers' compliance against contractual and legal requirements, and drive a compliance culture both internally and externally.

We are looking for an individual with technical abilities (e.g., Python, SQL, VBA, AI agents and workflows, etc.) and audit / compliance experience, preferably in transport. The candidate will apply their knowledge to 1) conduct and manage carrier audits, identifying legal, financial, and reputational risks, and proposing risk-mitigation solutions, 2) deliver detailed finding and recommendation reports for both carriers and business teams (e.g., carrier management teams, Legal), and 3) semi/automate and/or launch new audit workstreams, driving efficiencies and expansions. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to details aptitudes, data/tech-driven mindset and capabilities, and good soft skills for building trustworthy relationships with peers, stakeholders, and carriers. Finally, the successful candidate will display good team spirit and autonomy.

Key job responsibilities

• Audit carriers to verify that they operate compliantly with contractual, and regulatory requirements

• Provide precise audit reports to carriers and internal management teams, with clear finding details, and actionable short/mid/long-term corrective and preventative action items, thus helping them achieve and maintain compliance requirements

• Semi/automate audit workstreams, leveraging e.g., AI, Python, SQL, etc.

• Launch new audit workstreams in line with business and legal demands

• Lead and/or participate in special projects and/or assignments as necessary

A day in the life

There are no two days completely alike in this role, but most will include:

1. Conducting and/or managing audits, working collaboratively with e.g., Global Solutions Risk and Compliance, Legal, and Carrier Operations

2. Delivering audit reports, inclusive of compliance-driving recommendations

3. Attending team and stakeholder meetings to drive a compliance culture in and out of the organization

4. Supporting carriers with their compliance questions or doubts

5. Semi/automating audit workstreams to gain speed and quality

6. Diving into new transportation programs and launching associated new audit workstreams

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working effectively across cross-functional teams and partnering well with people at all levels within an organization

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or experience in an industry role

- Speak, write, and read fluently in English and Bulgarian

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working in risk/fraud analysis or in compliance organizations

- Speak, write, and read Lithuanian, and/or Czech
