Job Introduction
BBC Verify consolidates experts in data journalism, disinformation, and open-source verification. The team will launch a live page on the BBC News website showcasing their work, emphasizing transparency and real-time updates.
The Senior Designer will develop digital infographic content, ensuring high standards aligned with BBC guidelines.
Main Responsibilities
As a Senior Designer, you will produce distinctive digital content, visualizing verification, satellite imagery, maps, and complex data visualizations. You will work collaboratively within the BBC News Design team, translating editorial content into engaging experiences across digital, broadcast, and social platforms. Collaboration will include infographic designers, motion designers, UX designers, analysts, journalists, and developers.
Candidate Requirements
- A portfolio demonstrating relevant design work and process.
- Experience in a newsroom or investigative/open-source environment.
- Skills in creating clear, engaging diagrams and data visualizations.
- Map design skills with experience in relevant tools.
- Strong visual design skills in typography, color, and layout.
