Senior C# Developer – Full Stack / API / AI

We’re looking for a Senior C# Developer to join a modern engineering team and play a key role in developing and enhancing a high-quality software product.

This is a hands-on full-stack development role, with a strong focus on C# / .NET, API-driven development and modern software engineering practices. You’ll work across the backend and frontend, designing and building scalable, maintainable solutions that deliver real value to users.

A key part of the role will be embracing AI as part of the development process and product roadmap. You’ll have the opportunity to use AI tools to improve engineering productivity, introduce AI-powered functionality into the product and help establish best practices for AI-assisted development across the team.

We’re looking for an experienced developer who is technically strong, curious and excited about how AI can enhance both the development process and the products we build.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, develop and maintain high-quality software using C# and .NET.
  • Build scalable, well-structured RESTful APIs and API-driven applications.
  • Work across the full technology stack, contributing to both backend and frontend development.
  • Develop clean, maintainable and testable code.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services into production applications.
  • Embrace and utilise AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality and engineering practices.
  • Explore and implement AI-powered features where they provide genuine value to customers.
  • Work with technologies such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude and AWS Bedrock where appropriate.
  • Help establish good practices around AI-assisted development across the engineering team.
  • Contribute to technical design decisions and help shape the future architecture of the platform.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering colleagues to deliver new functionality.
  • Troubleshoot, optimise and continuously improve existing applications.
  • Champion good practices around quality, security, scalability and maintainability.

Must Have

  • 5+ years' commercial software development experience.
  • Strong C# / .NET / .NET Core development experience.
  • Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs and API-driven applications.
  • Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
  • Good understanding of software architecture, design patterns and clean coding principles.
  • Strong SQL experience, ideally with MariaDB or MySQL.
  • Frontend development experience using modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • A genuine interest in AI and emerging development technologies.
  • Experience using, or a strong desire to adopt, AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or similar.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on producing high-quality, maintainable software.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Vue.js / Nuxt 3 / JavaScript.
  • Experience working with AWS, including EC2, RDS, Lambda, S3 or Bedrock.
  • Experience integrating OpenAI, Anthropic or other commercial AI APIs.
  • Experience developing AI-powered features within commercial applications.
  • Microservices and distributed systems experience.
  • Experience working with Docker or containerised applications.
  • Familiarity with Shape Up or similar product development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of secure-by-design principles and ISO 27001.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting other developers.

AI & Modern Development

AI is an important part of the company's future development strategy, so we’re looking for someone who embraces AI rather than seeing it as a threat to traditional development.

You don't need to be an AI specialist or data scientist. What matters is that you're interested in understanding how tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and AI coding assistants can be used effectively to improve development workflows and build better products.

You'll have the opportunity to help shape how AI is adopted within the engineering team while continuing to focus on what you do best — building great software.

Why Join?

  • Work on a modern product with a strong focus on technology and innovation.
  • Play a key role in a full-stack C#/.NET engineering team.
  • Significant opportunity to embrace and influence the company's AI strategy.
  • Work on API-driven applications and modern software architecture.
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the office.
  • Dedicated training and development budget.
  • Clear opportunities for career progression.
  • A culture that encourages engineers to experiment with new technologies and ways of working.

If you're a Senior C# Developer who enjoys building great software, has strong API and full-stack experience and is excited about embracing AI in modern software development, we'd love to hear from you.
