Develop and maintain production schedules that effectively manage resources and meet project deadlines. Lead and manage a team of production staff, including producers, directors, and technicians, to ensure efficient and high-quality production processes. Collaborate with other departments, such as editorial and technical teams, to ensure the smooth execution of sports content. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and use this knowledge to continually improve production processes and techniques. Manage and coordinate budgets for production projects, ensuring resources are used effectively and efficiently. Ensure compliance with legal and ethical guidelines, including copyright and broadcast regulations, in all production activities. Act as a liaison between BBC Sport and external partners, such as sports organizations and sponsors, to coordinate production activities and ensure their requirements are met. Conduct regular training and development programs for production staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. Take charge in crisis situations, such as technical difficulties or last-minute changes, and make quick and effective decisions to keep production on track. Maintain a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment for the production team. Continuously evaluate and improve production processes and workflows to increase efficiency and productivity. Represent BBC Sport at industry events and conferences, and build relationships with key stakeholders to stay informed about industry developments and potential partnerships.
