Location: Remote, (Manchester based practice)

Job Type: Fixed-term contract (12 months), Part-time 9 hours per week

About Us

Bee Balanced Accountancy Ltd is an independent accountancy practice based in South Manchester. We support local businesses with bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, accounts, and tax returns. We pride ourselves on being approachable, reliable, and detail-oriented, always putting client care first.

With the director due to go on maternity leave at the end of December 2025, we’re looking for a dedicated part-time bookkeeper to join our team on a fixed-term contract to ensure our clients continue to receive the highest level of service.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records for a portfolio of clients.
  • Perform weekly bookkeeping tasks, including posting sales and purchase invoices.
  • Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, credit card statements and supplier statements.
  • Prepare VAT returns for review and submission.
  • Assist with payroll reports (submission is not required).
  • Carry out monthly checks to ensure records are accurate and complete.
  • Liaise with clients via email/phone to obtain information or resolve queries.
  • Follow set workflows and checklists to maintain consistent quality of service.

Requirements

  • Studying towards or recently achieved a Level 3 bookkeeping qualification (ICB/AAT or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable communicating with small business clients via email and phone.
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
  • Previous bookkeeping experience is a bonus but not essential.
  • Trustworthy, reliable, and committed to looking after client relationships.

Contract & Hours

  • Fixed-term employment contract for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Part-time, approx. 9 hours per week.
  • Core working hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday mornings (approx. 3 hours each).
