Job summary

We have opportunities to join our warm and friendly team as Healthcare Assistants for our Colne Ward team, part of the Cardiothoracic Critical Care Unit at Basildon Hospital.

Our centre cares for patients following Cardiothoracic surgery and those undergoing cardiology procedures. The multidisciplinary team includes nurses, medical staff, physiotherapists, dieticians, and HCAs, comprising diverse, multicultural individuals working throughout the centre.

Main duties of the job

As a Healthcare Assistant (HCA), you will be part of the care team working under the supervision of registered nurses and other professionals. You will assist in delivering care by supporting registered staff, patients, and their families.

This involves performing specific care tasks after completing formal training and assessment.

Basic care experience is necessary, along with good communication skills, both verbal and written.

An NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is recommended for this role.
