Management Accountant (Hybrid - 3 days WFH)

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a well established group of companies in Hull as they look to recruit a Management Accountant for their Group Head Office. You will work closely with the Group Financial Controller and work as part of the central finance team.

The purpose of the role is to to manage all finance areas, ensuring robust controls are in place. The management Accountant will help support business decision making, control costs and improve efficiencies.

This will be a varied role with duties to include: -

  • Prepare Monthly Management Accounts (Including P&L, Balance Sheet and Reconciliations)
  • Support in the management of an Assistant Accountant within the team
  • Consolidation of group accounts
  • Production of monthly reporting pack and presentation to Senior Management Team
  • Stock management
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure overheads are managed and understood
  • Preparation of the quarterly forecasts
  • Preparation of the annual budget and ongoing review to ensure budget is delivered
  • Standard cost review and update
  • Presentation of quarterly forecast and budget
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Attending project meetings and assessing project status management
  • Maintenance of the pricing model
  • Cost validation
  • Performing variance analysis
  • Standard costing maintenance and review/update
  • Costing review
  • Gross margin analysis
  • Manage external sales commissions
  • Month end journals
  • Treasury
    • Weekly cash forecast along with commentary
    • Analysis to improve process and forecast accuracy

    • Monitor and forecast cashflows
    • Maximise cash upstreaming to Group

  • Manage the year end audit (for UKFD) with external auditors

To be successful, you will have the following skills and experiences: -

  • Qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA or Part Qualified (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) and currently studying to become fully qualified
  • Ability to be able to work to deadlines
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Good attention to detail
  • Manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential
  • Good interpersonal skills – this role interacts with other entities within the group and other stakeholders
  • Desire to drive process improvements
  • Good commercial acumen
