About the role

The IOE Library is one of UCL's busiest libraries and is also home to one of Europe's largest and most significant collections on education and social research. The IOE Library Customer Services Team plays a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and safe environment, maintaining our world-class collections, and enabling seamless access to our services and collections. As part of a team, you will deliver an excellent and friendly service in a busy library. Contribute to the maintenance of a safe and welcoming space. Support cross-team working and take part in projects that support the IOE Library collections, space and services. Manual handling and the ability to evacuate users via stairs is required to carry out this role. Training will be provided.

This is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.

This role does not meet the eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa certificate of sponsorship under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, UCL will not be able to sponsor individuals who require right to work in the UK to carry out this role.

About you

We are looking for candidates who in particular have the following experience and skills:
  • Experience delivering a friendly and professional service to customers.
  • Ability to work within, and across, teams to meet agreed objectives.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to handle enquiries, both face to face and online, referring more complex enquiries as appropriate.
