What you’ll be doing

General Summary / Objectives:

The Global Mobility Business & Systems Specialist will assess, design, and implement technology solutions that solve business problems and promote the growth of Hitachi’s Global Mobility capabilities.

The role will engage with internal and external stakeholders, working as the Business & Systems Integrator throughout the full lifecycle of solution development to generate successful business outcomes. It will also monitor services delivery to ensure unpredicted systems disruptions will not impact the availability of continuous service.

Being a subject matter expert in technology solutions and familiar with the day-to-day operation of international mobility programs, the Global Mobility Business & Systems Specialist will provide guidance across the enterprise ensuring value and innovative solutions are implemented for all aspects of Global Mobility to the Hitachi Group Companies.

Key internal relationships are with Global Mobility CoE, Shared Service organizations, and functions within Hitachi Group Companies including HR Digital, Finance, Administration, Travel, Local HR, Regional HQs and other organizations as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consult with Business stakeholders and Mobility stakeholders/users to determine business requirements, functional requirements, Mobility system needs and business change-management impacts.
  • Support the design and development of Mobility systems to meet Hitachi Group Global Mobility strategy and Group Companies business goals
  • Identify and specify inputs and format outputs to meet users’ needs
  • Develop specifications, diagrams and flowcharts for technical and non-technical teams to follow
  • Use techniques such as sampling, model building, and structured analysis, along with accounting principles, to ensure system solutions are efficient, cost-effective, and financially feasible
  • Oversee system implementation, while actively supporting system configuration, coordinating tests, and review initiation of the system to validate performance.
  • Proactively manage, prioritize and document business requirements, and ensure good project governance and requirements traceability.
  • Ensure that Mobility systems are aligned and reflective of Business practices to achieve business strategy, ensure employee value proposition, and reflect Company strategies and values.
  • Identify risks and provide input into mitigations and action planning. Ensure Risk Management protocols are incorporated into System operation procedures to guarantee business continuity at all times.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external Global Mobility Vendors to ensure adequate system configuration and prompt resolution of system maintenance issues.
  • Work both autonomously and in teams, with internal and external stakeholders, successfully delivering project and operational outcomes.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and background:

Position Requirements (Global Mobility Specific):

  • Proven track record assessing, designing, and solving complex application support issues, ideally working as Business Analyst or Similar in Large Companies or Multi-National conglomerates (minimum 5 years’ experience)
  • Strong experience with administration, deployment, and configuration of applications in an enterprise environment
  • Deep understanding and experience writing business requirements, specifications, and capable of delivering business-focused technical solutions to an agreed and tested standard
  • Excellent skills in requirements gathering, documentation and translation to other forms of project documentation (such as functional specification and technical specifications) in various formats suitable for intended audiences (e.g. sponsors, architects, developers and vendors)
  • Strong testing experience, with the ability to guide test plans
  • Good understanding of Global Mobility processes, including knowledge in Tax reporting and Data Privacy management regulations of different countries and jurisdictions.
  • Experience with overseeing global mobility vendors (desirable)
  • Effective stakeholder management skills, and ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Comfortable with transformation activities in a very complex, matrixed global setting
  • Strong self-motivation in uncertain environments and contexts
  • Experience working in a global team with diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to apply theoretical and practical knowledge to solve commonly encountered problems
  • Able to independently manage generally accepted concepts, principles, and standards in well-defined areas
  • Capable of undertaking ongoing tasks being performed on either a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Good negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Well-developed analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work as a team member and actively promote team harmony
  • Flexible approach to working hours and after-hours commitments

Education and other requirements:

  • Computer Science / Information Technology related degree or 7 years of HRIS experience
  • English fluency and nice to have Japanese advanced level language proficiency
  • Workday, Assignment Pro, Middleware, Microsoft Office, SAP – advanced skills required
  • Well established network with Hitachi Corporate and Group Companies – desirable

Physical Demands:

Typical office work demands, such as sitting for long periods of time, and the extensive use of computers and related screen-based applications.
