What you\'ll be doingThe Boots Product Brand is biggest Health & Beauty Brand in the UK and we have exciting plans for its future. In this pivotal role of Suncare Formulation Manager you\'ll use your deep expertise in formulation technology to redefine our approach product innovation, leading a team of formulation technologists to deliver market leading sun protection products. Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Quality & Technical Director for Boots and working within a multidisciplinary technical team this role is accountable for leading and delivering a pipeline of market leading, effective, affordable & sustainable sun protection products from idea to prototype and thereafter finished product.

Accountable for developing the formulation innovation strategy and pipeline for Soltan.

Fosters and promotes a high degree of innovation within the team.

Networks widely to stay abreast of industry trends and relevant new technologies through building strong relationships with raw material suppliers, CMO\'s, CRO\'s trade bodies and finished product suppliers.

Drives a culture of scientific excellence within the team based on structured experimental plans and critical evaluation of technical data.

Innovate technical solutions for complex problems, interpret scientific information into valid conclusions and articulate clear business recommendations.

Ensure regulatory, legal and sustainability compliance for all finished formulations, products and processes.

Ensure effective scale up and transfer of technology to partner manufacturer(s) and is a contact for manufacturing partners and raw material suppliers.

Builds strong relationships across the business particularly with product, regulatory and No.7 Beauty Company R&D colleagues.

Acts as a technical ambassador for the Soltan brand, supporting marketing & PR teams on the benefits of our products.

What you\'ll need to have (our must-haves)

Graduate in Cosmetic Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or a scientific discipline alongside industry experience in FMCG.

Experience in formulation development within the cosmetic or pharmaceutical industry, ideally with photo protection knowledge.

A curious passion for science and formulation technology.

Drive to influence internal/external stakeholders and suppliers.

Technical translation and communication - desire to communicate complex technologies/science to a broad audience.

Skill to evaluate and translate new technologies into tangible commercial opportunities.
