<p><strong>Location</strong><br>Truro, Nova Scotia</p><p><strong>Hours</strong><br>Full Time - Permanent Position</p><p><strong>Salary</strong><br>$1,905.03 - $3,182.69 Bi-Weekly</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong><br>As a Forest Photo Interpreter Technician, you will be an integral part of a specialized team responsible for maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of Nova Scotia’s interpreted forest inventory data. Your work ensures that the data meets established standards and specifications critical to sustainable natural resource management. Key responsibilities include interpreting tree, shrub, and ground cover species, height, crown closure, and forest stand structure through stereoscopic viewing of aerial photography using softcopy systems. You will conduct quality control reviews of interpreted inventory data to verify accuracy and adherence to provincial forest inventory requirements. Collaborating directly with contract interpreters, supervisors, data editors, and other departmental staff, you will provide feedback and support continuous improvements in data capture and interpretation processes. This role supports the ongoing enhancement of inventory interpretation standards, methodologies, and quality management practices. The position reports to the GIS and Forest Inventory Program Administrator Officer and involves a combination of office-based work with some field assignments in remote and rugged environments.</p>
