This role drives portfolio strategy, partnership growth, and go-to-market execution while connecting business objectives with telecommunications technologies. The position contributes to the delivery of value for strategic partners in a dynamic global market.<br><br><strong>How You Will Make An Impact<br><br></strong><ul><li> Lead the development, evolution, and execution of the managed services portfolio strategy for telecommunications service providers, carriers, and network operators globally.</li><li> Refresh the service catalogue and introduce managed service offerings aligned to partner and provider outcomes.</li><li> Coordinate cross-functional engagement across Account Management, Product Line Management, Partner Programs, Regional Leaders, and CMS Business Development Consultants.</li><li> Cultivate relationships with service providers and operators in alignment with business growth strategies.</li><li> Drive thought leadership initiatives that influence stakeholders and support business growth.</li><li> Direct sales enablement strategy development and resource prioritization across partner programs and regional teams.</li><li> Communicate performance metrics to leadership to support sales acceleration within the Ciena Partner Network ecosystem.<br><br></li></ul><strong>The Must Haves<br><br></strong><ul><li> Experience: 10+ years of experience in telecom sales, business development, product management, or channel management.</li><li> Experience with direct and indirect sales strategy, channel programs, and partner ecosystems.</li><li> Application of business development, consultative sales, and partner management practices.</li><li> Application of telecommunications technologies including optical transport, Carrier Ethernet, IP, and wave services.</li><li> Demonstrated ability to grow service provider business relationships and maintain long-term partner engagement.</li><li> Application of commercial and financial analysis to business growth strategies.</li><li> Experience working within global cross-functional matrix environments.</li><li> Application of telecommunications managed services, product lifecycle management, and market opportunity assessment.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Nice To Haves<br><br></strong><ul><li> Application of commercial planning that connects service launches, pipeline development, and partner performance to program strategy.</li><li> Knowledge of global business practices, cultural considerations, and market dynamics across multiple regions.</li><li> Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and contributing within global teams.</li><li> Application of product management disciplines including roadmap development, lifecycle governance, and continuous improvement.</li><li> Experience managing multiple initiatives through structured project management practices.</li><li> Experience presenting business information and recommendations to executive stakeholders.<br><br></li></ul>At Ciena, we are committed to building and fostering an environment in which our employees feel respected, valued, and heard.
