Overview EY’s Health Consulting practice is experiencing significant growth and increasing demand for transformation expertise across the UK health and care landscape. We are expanding our senior leadership team with a highly experienced Director who can drive strategic growth, lead complex transformation programmes, and shape EY’s impact across Provider organisations, Integrated Care Systems, regional bodies, and national health clients.

As a senior leader in our Health team, you will work directly with Board‑level and Executive stakeholders to understand their priorities and challenges, and design innovative transformation solutions focused on:

  • Productivity and operational improvement
  • Financial sustainability and cost‑out transformation
  • Human‑centred digital enablement
  • System integration and whole‑system care redesign
  • Strategic transformation across providers and ICSs
You will play a key role in bringing the best of EY to the health sector—mobilising multidisciplinary teams and leveraging our cross‑firm capabilities, ecosystem partnerships, and technology-enabled consulting solutions. This is a leadership role suited to individuals with both big‑firm consulting experience and deep exposure to the UK health system , from direct operational roles or consulting.

Key Responsibilities Strategic & Client Leadership

  • Lead strategic relationships with Board-level and senior executives across Providers, ICSs, regional and national health organisations.
  • Act as a trusted adviser on productivity, financial improvement, operational excellence, digital transformation, and large-scale service redesign.
  • Oversee multiple complex programmes, ensuring delivery excellence, commercial performance, risk management, and high-impact outcomes.
Practice Leadership & Sector Growth
  • Drive market strategy, proposition development, and thought leadership for the Health practice.
  • Lead go‑to‑market initiatives across productivity improvement, cost optimisation, digital enablement, and system transformation.
  • Act as a visible ambassador for EY’s values and quality standards within the sector.
Business Development & Revenue Growth
  • Own and grow a significant revenue portfolio, with accountability for pipeline generation, conversion, and multi‑year client relationships.
  • Lead development of major proposals and bids, including acting as Bid Lead for high‑value pursuits.
People Leadership & Culture
  • Lead, inspire, develop and mentor high-performing teams across the UK Health community.
  • Champion diversity, inclusion, psychological safety, and wellbeing across project teams.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Extensive experience in health consulting within a professional services firm and can include senior leadership experience in UK Provider organisations / Integrated Care Systems.
  • Deep understanding of the UK healthcare landscape at Provider, ICS, regional and national level.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing new business, building pipelines, and converting major pursuits.
  • Strong capability in designing and delivering transformational solution sets focused on health, productivity, financial sustainability and digital transformation.
  • Experience acting as Engagement Lead, overseeing commercials, risk, delivery, and client relationships.
Desirable
  • Experience with digital health, data-driven decision making, or enabling technologies to support transformation.
