What You’ll Be Doing

  • Your role places real value in finding and adapting ways to protect and support our people, customers & communities. This role plays a crucial role in the design and development of BT's Cyber Security Portfolio products and services for the business market.
  • You will be working with suppliers, vendors, and a wide range of diverse stakeholders, to create a product that meets the customer and market expectations, whilst meeting the business operating cost targets (people, process, systems).
  • The products and services you help create will be sold and used by household names both within the UK and across the world, across many markets, each with their own legal and regulatory challenges
Security Design and Architecture
  • Design scalable, secure and commercially viable solutions across SIEM, SOAR and XDR platforms, aligned to customer, regulatory and internal requirements
  • Translate business and threat requirements into clear, implementable security designs and architecture patterns
Engineering and Development
  • Develop and implement detection logic, use cases, integrations and automation workflows using platform tooling and programming languages such as Python and SQL
  • Build and optimise security content including rules, analytics and orchestration playbooks across multiple vendor technologies
Automation and AI Enablement
  • Design and implement automation to improve detection, investigation and response efficiency across security operations
  • Apply AI techniques such as anomaly detection, behavioural analytics or LLM-driven investigation support to improve SOC outcomes, enhancing alert correlation, triage and threat analysis
Essential Skills / Experience
  • The role may involve working with Government and Military Contracts, so a level of security clearance will be required
  • Experience of a contributing role within a multi-skilled, matrix team of Operations, process & system leads as well as working independently, using Agile methodology to meet scheduled delivery dates
  • Time spent in an Operational function or technical delivery role, implementing and/or supporting launched services, and engaging with 'real-world' customer issues and feedback
  • Some understanding of people, process and systems and interactions to understand relationship between stakeholders
Desirable Skills / Experience
  • Experience of working in a small team of Developers and working independently, using AGILE methodology, in a SecDevOps environment
  • A formal qualification(s) in a CLOUD or SIEM/SOAR Technology
