## Counsellor at Bupa – Mindplace Brighton We are looking for a skilled Counsellor or Psychotherapist to join our team at Mindplace Brighton, working face-to-face with clients. This is a permanent role offering a competitive salary plus fantastic benefits. You can choose part-time hours (minimum 3 days per week) or full-time if preferred. Sessions are available Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm and 2pm to 10pm, plus weekends 08:30–17:00. At least one late shift or weekend shift is required, and you’ll see 5 appointments per day. ### The Role As a Counsellor, you’ll provide high-quality, effective, and safe counselling to Bupa customers over the short, medium, or longer term. You’ll work independently as part of a multi-disciplinary clinical team, liaising daily with internal and external services, organisations, and safeguarding agencies. Your responsibilities include: - Delivering comprehensive assessments and formulations to drive evidence-based interventions - Offering different models of service delivery, including face-to-face sessions - Adhering to Bupa’s case management processes and collaborating with Clinical Leads and the wider therapy team - Following sessional limits based on the client’s company benefits - Providing signposting or onward referrals as needed - Offering ad-hoc wellbeing support, one-off assessments, and referral recommendations - Delivering group psychoeducation, raising mental health awareness, and promoting wellbeing through remote presentations, workshops, and training - Working autonomously within professional guidelines and Bupa’s service policies - Attending regular clinical supervision and team meetings ### What We’re Looking For Essential qualifications and experience: - BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psychotherapist, or NCPS Professional Accredited Registrant, or UKCP Registered Psychotherapeutic Counsellor/Psychotherapist - At least 3 years of full-time post-qualification counselling experience - Accreditation must be held at the time of application Desirable: - Training in incident support - Corporate experience and business understanding Key skills and experience: - General adult mental health specialism - Proficiency with Microsoft Systems and electronic medical record systems - Ability to evaluate, plan, and prioritise workload within demanding timescales - Proven customer service and client liaison experience - Excellent clinical knowledge application - Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills - Professional drive, enthusiasm, and self-motivation - Rapid and decisive response capability - Excellent team player with strong problem-solving skills - Experience managing your own caseload and working towards individual targets - Efficient diary management and time boundary maintenance - High standards in written and oral communication - Diverse and varied clinical experience Personal characteristics we value: - Well-developed communication skills and effective time management - Ability to work autonomously in a busy environment - Understanding of the business environment - Comfortable working within a multi-disciplinary team - Awareness of KPIs and the ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven setting - Effective diary utilisation planning within a two-week lead time ### Why Choose Bupa?
