UK Fabric is the re-imagining of BTs key UK Business services, transforming our VPN, Internet and Ethernet products into fully digitised services on top of a NaaS platform. This role will take ownership of designing, co-ordinating and leading the network level migration of services from their existing platforms onto new modern strategic platforms. Ensuring a customer led approach to delivering real business benefit for BT and our customers. What you'll be doing * Understand the current and planned IPP, IPVPN, Btnet, Ethernet platforms and services and the customer impacts of migration. * Work with engineering development and operational teams to design, test and deliver complex end to end solutions. * Undertakes routine daily activities and is accountable for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of all network infrastructure components. * Undertakes the implementation of new and enhanced network technology that aligns to customers' strategic direction for enterprise and remote site connectivity. * Executes engineering efforts to ensue currency and supportability of networking technology. * Participates in technology lifecycle planning, including contributing to the development of the technology roadmaps and Network Health Assessments. * Delivers the required documentation, knowledge transfer and training to successfully land new solutions into the support organisation. * Champions, continuously develops and shares with team knowledge on emerging trends and changes in Network Engineering. * Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective verbal and written communication skills. Desirable Skills / Experience * Experience of full the development lifecycle from requirement capture through to deployment and in life support. * Experience in the deployment and maintenance of networks and working with Operational teams. * Ability to work across teams, to understand and communicate complex ideas and solutions. * Understanding / experience of BT's Business connectivity products and solutions. * Experience with agile delivery. * Experience with gNMI, JSON, YANG and working with REST based APIs. * Member of a professional body e.g. Institution of Engineering and Technology * Cisco Certification (CCNP or higher) or vendor equivalent experience. * Demonstrable experience with Python (or similar) programming language.
