Content Protection Representative
Overview
Role: Content Protection Representative (W/E Coverage)
Location: UK Based, Remote
Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Five days per week (incl. one weekend day). The Content Protection & Anti-Piracy department supports UMG labels and business units worldwide, managing digital and physical content and enforcing copyrights across time zones. This role requires working Wednesday to Sunday to support the release life cycle.
Universal Music Group’s Content Protection & Anti-Piracy department has an exciting opportunity to support global content protection strategies and enforcement of copyrights worldwide. This position plays a pivotal role against IP theft in the world’s largest record label.

Responsibilities
- Assess and review online uses of UMG digital and physical assets (including publishing) to detect infringement of rights.
- Handle inquiries from internal business units and labels.
- Work with international trade groups to enforce rights.
- Stay abreast of digital trends related to the recording industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional qualification
- Relevant work experience in the music industry or digital media, entertainment, technology, or related fields.
- Familiarity with anti-piracy, copyright, or trademarks preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of internet technologies, especially streaming, music platforms, and mobile applications.
- Strong organizational skills including follow-through and execution.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- A passion for music and digital music platforms.
Preferred Skills/Abilities
- Fluency in a second language (preferably Russian, German, French, or Mandarin).
- Advanced knowledge of Office 365 including Excel.
- Experience with large datasets and databases including SQL.
- Excellent presentation skills (e.g., PowerPoint) and willingness to present publicly to peers and managers.
- Knowledge of music creation, distribution, and data.
