German-Speaking Pet Claims Handler (Remote – UK or Ireland)

Fully Remote

£35k-£45k

Retained exclusively by DATAHEAD on behalf of a global InsurTech

We’ve been exclusively retained to recruit for one of the world’s most ambitious and fast-scaling InsurTechs - one that’s quietly reshaping how insurance claims are processed, from start to finish.

Backed by Y Combinator and trusted by some of the world’s largest insurance carriers, this company is on a mission to turn every insurance claim into a fair and positive experience. Their founding team built an insurance company from the ground up and now they’re combining real-world experience with advanced AI to solve the inefficiencies most insurers can’t touch.

This is a rare opportunity to join a high-calibre, forward-thinking team where you’ll be instrumental in delivering seamless, compassionate experiences for customers making pet insurance claims - with a particular focus on supporting German-speaking customers.

The Role

You’ll be part of a growing, remote-first claims team that blends strong customer empathy with a deep understanding of policy and process. You’ll manage the end-to-end lifecycle of pet claims, helping customers through emotionally charged moments with clarity and care—while making sound, policy-driven decisions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of pet insurance claims from first notification to final resolution
  • Liaise with customers and third parties in both German and English, ensuring a smooth, supportive experience
  • Apply policy coverage accurately and fairly
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes in line with SLAs
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and shared ownership

What We’re Looking For

  • Fluent German speaker with strong English communication skills (written & verbal)
  • 2+ years of experience handling insurance claims (pet, property, warranty, gadget or similar)
  • Confidence interpreting policy wordings and making indemnity decisions
  • Strong attention to detail, with a customer-first mindset
  • Empathy and resilience when dealing with sensitive or emotional cases
  • Desire to grow with a scaling business and adapt as we do

What’s on Offer

  • Remote-first setup (UK or Ireland)
  • 28 days annual leave + option to work 30 days abroad each year
  • Generous, transparent compensation and equity
  • Private health insurance
  • Annual training budget
  • Regular team offsites
  • The chance to work side-by-side with proven founders in a hyper-growth, YC-backed InsurTech

This role is exclusive to DATAHEAD

We’re proud to be the chosen partner for this build-out. If you’re passionate about pet insurance and want to be part of something transformational, we’d love to hear from you.
