Position information

The part-time Chantecaille Beauty Consultant works 2 days a week for our brand-new counter opening in John Lewis, Solihull. The primary responsibilities are to provide outstanding customer service to each customer and to understand individual and team service goals. Other responsibilities include maintaining the store environment and operations and assisting with administrative and housekeeping duties.

Main responsibilities

Customer service and performance

  • Achieve the targets set by the company as communicated by the Counter manager in respect of items per transaction/average sale value and mix of business
  • Deliver the highest level of service to ensure every customer is provided with an excellent counter experience

Events

  • Execute events according to guidelines as directed by the Counter manager/Account executive/Head Office

Stock

  • Assist daily in stock, stock rotation and hygiene supplies replenishment and maintain appropriate levels throughout the day
  • Ensure drawers and storage areas are tidy and highlight any discrepancies or issues to the Counter manager

Maintain the work environment

  • Participate in cleaning display units, tools and testers, including thorough cleaning at night to prepare for the next day’s business
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, clean as you go
  • Replace missing, finished or damaged products and equipment once authorised by the counter manager
  • Maintain proper placement and condition of merchandise on counters, shelves and stockholding areas
  • Inform store management/Counter Manager of any maintenance or Health and Safety issues, potential hazards or accidents

Teamwork

  • Undertake specific tasks as given by the Counter Manager, including administrative paperwork and services
  • Work with team members to ensure efficient running of the store
  • Provide great internal customer service and develop good working relationships with colleagues

Administration

  • Assist with inventory counts
  • Complete all administration accurately, legibly and on time

Position qualifications

  • Retail experience, preferably in a customer-focused beauty environment
  • Advanced knowledge of beauty products
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets
  • Works well within a team, and independently
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting that requires multitasking, teamwork and adaptability
  • Able to work flexible hours including early and late shifts, weekends and bank holidays
  • Previous experience in luxury beauty industry and department stores desired but not essential
  • Beauty Therapy level 3 - desired but not essential
