Associate Creative Director - Copywriter

We're looking for an exceptional Associate Creative Director, Copywriter to join a global creative and marketing team on an initial three-month contract, with scope to extend. The successful candidate will be available to start ASAP.

This is a senior creative role for someone who believes in the power of an idea and knows that great ideas live or die through great storytelling and exceptional writing.

You'll work closely with Art Directors, designers, strategists, producers and marketing teams to develop creative work across a broad range of channels and customer touchpoints. You'll be expected to bring big ideas, sharp thinking and beautifully crafted copy to everything you do.

You'll help shape creative concepts and campaigns from the first thought through to final execution, creating work that captures attention, tells a compelling story and connects with audiences.

The role spans a wide variety of content, from big creative campaigns and brand storytelling to web copy, website content, product specifications, in-store communications, product launches, social content and attention-grabbing customer-facing messaging.

We're looking for someone who can move effortlessly between the big idea and the smallest detail - someone who can develop a powerful campaign concept in the morning and obsess over a single line of copy in the afternoon.

You'll:

  • Concept and creatively direct ambitious, original campaigns and communications.
  • Partner with Art Directors and multidisciplinary creative teams to turn ideas into exceptional work.
  • Write and edit across a wide range of formats, audiences and channels.
  • Develop compelling creative storytelling that makes complex products, ideas and messages simple, engaging and memorable.
  • Create everything from campaign concepts and headlines to website copy, product content, product specifications, retail and in-store communications, social content and launch materials.
  • Present creative concepts and finished work to senior stakeholders and confidently articulate the thinking behind the work.
  • Work across digital, retail, advertising, events, social and emerging communication channels.
  • Collaborate with designers, photographers, filmmakers and production teams to ensure the idea is executed to the highest possible standard.
  • Mentor and inspire other writers, helping raise the quality and ambition of the work.
  • Balance creative ambition with commercial objectives, deadlines and practical production considerations.
  • Champion the craft of writing - ensuring every word has purpose and every piece of content earns the customer's attention.

You'll ideally have 10+ years of experience in creative writing, advertising, marketing communications or a similar creative environment, with experience working at a senior creative or creative leadership level.

Most importantly, you'll have:

  • A standout portfolio demonstrating exceptional creative storytelling and writing.
  • Experience developing big, bold, original ideas rather than simply delivering briefs.
  • A proven ability to create work that is attention-grabbing, culturally relevant and memorable.
  • A genuine love of the craft of writing - from a powerful campaign line to a beautifully considered product description.
  • Experience working across a wide variety of content, including advertising, web and website copy, product content, product specifications, retail/in-store communications, social, film, video, photography and integrated campaigns.
  • The ability to take complex information and turn it into clear, engaging and compelling communication.
  • Excellent creative judgement and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Confidence working collaboratively with Art Directors, designers and other creative disciplines.
  • Experience presenting creative ideas to senior creative and marketing stakeholders.
  • An understanding of film, photography and creative production.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced creative environment.
  • A portfolio that demonstrates the thinking behind the work as well as the final execution.

Please include examples of your work with your application.
