Account Executive – Cargo Sales (LON)

The Account Executive – Cargo Sales is a customer-facing commercial roleresponsible for maximizing cargo revenue performance within the UK by promotingour brand, products, and value proposition. Working in close collaboration withour joint venture partners, this role drives sales initiatives, deepenscustomer relationships, and ensures a seamless end-to-end customer experience.The Account Executive plays a key part in executing the company’s cargostrategy in-market, representing our brand with professionalism and expertise.
PrimaryResponsibilities:
Sales& Revenue Performance
- Execute the regionalcargo sales strategy to achieve revenue, volume, and market share targets.
- Conduct regularsales visits, joint sales calls (where applicable), and virtualengagements with assigned accounts, promoting the full cargo productportfolio.
- Identify newbusiness opportunities, negotiate commercial agreements, and securelong-term customer commitments.
- Manage groupsales mailbox, responding to pricing requests and customer enquiries
- Accountselection, monitor and analysis of CASS, World ACD, and internalperformance data to identify sale opportunities.
JointVenture & Partner Collaboration
- Work closelywith cargo sales teams of JV and strategic partner airlines to deliver alignedcommercial strategies across the UK market.
- Support jointsales initiatives, share market intelligence, and coordinate customerengagement to maximize JV revenue performance.
- Monitor JVperformance at country, route, and flight level, identifying trends,risks, and opportunities.
CustomerRelationship Management
- Manage aportfolio of key customers, including freight forwarders, GSAs, andstrategic shippers.
- Develop strongbusiness relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and operationalcontacts.
- Provideproactive account support, including performance reviews, commercialupdates, and issue resolution.
Operational& Service Quality Oversight
- Maintain regularcommunication with Cargo Operations, Station Management, and GroundHandling partners to ensure service reliability.
- Monitor serviceperformance, escalate issues as needed, and support corrective action thatprotects customer satisfaction and commercial performance.
- Advocate for thecustomer experience, ensuring product delivery aligns with commercialcommitments.
MarketIntelligence & Competitive Insight
- Stay currentwith cargo industry developments, competitive activity, and market changeswithin the UK.
- Evaluatecompetitor products, pricing trends, and service offerings to supportinternal strategy development.
- Share insightswith commercial leadership to influence pricing, scheduling, and productdecisions.
Cross-FunctionalLeadership & Representation
- Represent the commercialfunction in local stations, industry events, and customer forums asneeded.
- Collaborate withCSO, Pricing, Revenue Management, Operations, and Marketing teams tosupport business objectives.
- Uphold brandstandards and ensure all customer touchpoints reflect company values andservice commitments.
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
• Candidates must have unrestricted, permanent right to live and work in the UK at the time of application.
• Minimum of 2 years related cargo sales experience or related work experience.
• General knowledge of Delta's markets and competitive market position as well as sales strategies, programs, processes, tools and infrastructure.
• Strong commercial acumen and proven relationship-management skills.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel for business.
• Commitment to safety, data protection, and inclusive working practices.
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Satisfactory performance in current role.
• Demonstrates respect for diverse people, perspectives, and work styles.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
