Responsibilities

  • Handling patch management for customer managed devices.
  • Investigating and resolving server-related incidents and requests.
  • Ensuring all tickets via portal are picked up and resolved within SLA.
  • Raise and perform change requests aligned with Techary’s change process.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to management on recurring issues.
  • Assist with technical projects where required.
  • Continuously improve knowledge and understanding across the various technologies.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers for issue resolution.
  • Ensure documentation is created, kept up to date and accurate.
  • Input into maintenance of the RMM tool (server monitoring) used for proactive monitoring.
  • Provide technical support for all types of server-related incidents and requests assigned to out of hours.
  • Provide input on strategy, capacity planning and project delivery for customers’ server infrastructure.
  • Although heavily focused on server infra management, you may be required to assist with network-type incidents.
  • Work with the in-hours team to provide a seamless support experience for all Techary customers.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with server management, Hypervisor (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, HPE VME), OS management, Linux distros (Ubuntu, CentOS, Redhat, Rocky Linux), Windows deployments (2016, 2019, 2022, 2025) support in an equivalent role.
  • Experience with storage systems, SAN, NAS platforms.
  • Experience with server patching host and OS patching.
  • Experience with administrating out of band management interfaces (iLo / iDrac) and Intelligent provisioning / Lifecycle controller.
  • Experience with backup systems, like Veeam.
  • Able to analyse logs and metrics for fault detection, using tools such as Wireshark, vSphere, N-Able N-Central, syslog servers.
  • Understand security principles in server deployments.
  • Understanding of managing hybrid cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
  • Basic understanding of core network protocols (NTP, DNS, DHCP, VRRP/HSRP, STP, TCP, UDP, ARP, SNMP, PIM, IGMP).
  • Good understanding and experience of working with exchange market data environments.

  • VMware Certified Professional
  • Professional in Windows Server Management (removed certification)
  • CompTIA Linux+
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications (AZ 104) or equivalent (nice to have)
